Westport, Conn. March 2, 2007---Bird Bonette Stauderman today announced the formation of Bird Bonette Stauderman Australasia in Sydney to advise clients on commercial, print and Internet production in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region. The new company is headed by Michael Canavan, recently executive producer for Sprowles Film in Sydney.
Canavan had been a producer and director-cameraman for Academy One Films and Salon Films in Hong Kong prior to returning to his native Australia and Sprowles in 2000. He also manages Product Placement, a company specializing in inventing and producing sponsored programs and long-form films and videos that feature the client's products or services, for play on television and the Internet.
The Sydney company joins BBS firms in Los Angeles, London, and Sao Paulo. "By extending our reach farther into the Pacific, BBS can provide better service to global clients everywhere. We are especially pleased to have a production person of Mike Canavan's stature with us in Australia, one of the leading centers of commercial and film production worldwide," said Albert Stauderman, president of BBS. "We have worked happily with Mike over a period of several years on commercial shoots in Australia, and it's great to now have him on the BBS team. The connection with Product Placement will also give the rest of us at BBS access to first-hand information and experience in this form of new media."
Bird Bonette Stauderman Inc was formed in 1985 by Stauderman with Ted Bird and Bob Bonette. The company continues to serve its original clients: Bayer, Dannon, Kimberly-Clark and antecedents of Reckitt Benckiser, along with an expanded roster of prominent multinational advertisers. The company provides production management and cost control advice and also does broadcast and print, talent contracting and payment.
